 Britmums Brilliance in Blogging Awards 2012

I'm in the finals of the blog awards - this blog has been selected as one of the 8 finalists in the Inspire Category! I'm very excited as you can imagine.  This category will be judged by the Editor of the Huffington Post UK and the winner will be announced at an awards ceremony in Central London.  I recently wrote a guest post for the Britmums Website describing how it feels to come along to the Britmums Live Conference and to be a finalist in one of the award categories

I'm going to be brave and attend an event for other women who blog.  Claire from  http://aspergersinfo.wordpress.com has set up the Ultimate Britmums meme for us to get to know other bloggers, so this is my attempt to answer some of the questions............


Q: What’s your blog title/URL and how long have you been blogging?



A: Was this in the Plan (http://www.suburbansuperwoman.blogspot.com/) - blogging for nearly 4 years!!!


Q: Will Britmums Live be your First blogging conference?

Yep! Been stuck in hospitals almost permanently for the last few years, but as we manage more of our daughter's care at home now I can get out occassionally - also it's the first time I've felt confident enough in my blog to raise my head above the parapet....



Q: Did you bag yourself a sponsor?


Still working on it - got a couple of ideas, my blog's a bit niche....


Q: Are you attending both days?


Yes - Daisy's health permitting


Q: What are you most looking forward to about the conference?


Meeting lots of other like minded women, getting lots of top tips, getting out of the house!!!


Q: Are you wearing Branded Clothing ( you’re sponsors brand)?


Depends if I get a sponsor, otherwise may wear a tshirt for my charity which I support (http://www.shootingstarchase.org/)


Q: What is your planed style for this event?

Well it depends on the weather but I'll definitely treat myself to a blow dry the day before!


Q: Are you hoping to be nominated for a BiB award?


Hoping....


Q: if so what category?

Q: Will you be looking to network with Brands?

Q: What do u hope to walk away having gained from the conference?



 New ideas, inspiration, contacts and new friendships  (answer stolen from Boy with Asperger's answers!)



Q: Will you be dressing up in the toilets for the Friday night BiBs?


As I said, a blow dry the day before will see me alright (and a bit of lippy)


Q: Are you speaking at the conference and if so when, where and how do you feel about doing so?


Nope, but I'm sure to ask lots of questions


Q: Will you be joining in the early morning bloggercise on the Saturday?


Depends on whether we have had a night nurse in the night before!


Q: What speakers are you most looking forward to listening to?


All of them - esp Ruby Wax & Sarah Brown


Q: What workshops will you be attending on the Friday (Day 1)

Q: What Workshops being held on the Saturday (Day 2) have grabbed your attention?


As above - open to pointers from more experienced types....


Q: Are u booked into a hotel for the Friday night, if yes which one?


Live in Wimbledon


Q: Will you be looking for after party drinks


Depends on the childcare situation, how many brownie points I have left with DH


Q: Are u worried about not knowing anyone or being confident and socialising on the day?


I have got to know a few people via twitter, Britmums & FB but it will be good to put faces to names...


Q: What’s are you most likely to be found doing why attending Britmums Live?

Drinking coffee, asking questions, tweeting, ignoring texts from children at home.....
